Description
The first regulator in the world with only one hose and the demand valve situated at the mouth, this was presented in 1958 and set a new world standard for diving regulators. Still this regulator beats most other regulators on the market with some considerable ease. The German Navy and many others still have the Cyklon regulator as their first choice, thanks to the well-tested construction and design. It has been out in the field for over 45 years and experienced most of the things that can happen under the surface. The First Stage is a Balanced Diaphragm Design. The diaphragm membrane transmits the pressure changes to the internal mechanism eliminating the need for the surrounding water to enter the intricate mechanism. The benefit of this type of first stage design is that none of the internal parts are exposed to contaminants such as salt, sand, chlorine or pool acids. These environmental contaminants cause corrosion and mineral deposits to form on the internal mechanism deteriorating regulator performance. The standard Diaphragm Regulator does allow water into the mainspring chamber so that the diaphragm can perform this transmission of pressure changes. The First Stage has 4 Low Pressure (LP) and 2 High Pressure (HP) Ports and is made from Durable Corrosion Resistant Chrome Plated Brass. The Cyklon Second Stage is a Reliable Downstream Demand Valve Design. The Second Stage Housing is made from Corrosion Proof Plastic Stainless Steel and Chromed Brass. The Regulator System uses NITRIL O-Rings and is EN250 Approved for Cold Water Air Diving. The CYCLON Regulator has also been tested by the US Navy, comes with a 27.6″ (70 cm) LP Hose, comes with an Owner’s Manual and is covered by a 24 month limited warranty.
